Florida's Stacia Fonseca became the first player in nearly thirty years to win that state's 14s, 16s and 18s titles in consecutive years. The sixteen year old is currently making her way up the Girls' 18 national rankings. * * *
Andrea Hlavackcova, who was a silver medal winner at the Junior Fed Cup, won the Leciva Czech Junior Open in her hometown of Prague. Andrea defeated Israel's Shahar Peer in the finals, 6-3,7-5. Slovakia's Kamil Capkovic won the boys event, defeating Konstantin Kravchuk of Russia in the finals, 2-6,6-3,6-3. The boys doubles title went to Marek Dvorak/Jiri Prokop and the girls Alexandra Karavaeva/Alla Kudryavtseva. * * *
Three new Venezuelan tournaments have been added to the ITF calendar. GD Jones of Kiwi took advantage of these new events by winning the boys singles in Puerto Ordaz and making it to the finals in Carabobo and Caracas. Local junior David Navarrette was the winner in Caracas and reached the semis and finals in the other events. On the girls side the titles all went to Venezuelans -- Viviana Yru, Mariana Muci and Avel-Romaly Coronado. * * *
