Live webcasts throughout the USTA/ITA National Men's Indoors made this year's event the most exciting yet for spectators all over the globe. Second-seeded University of Georgia pulled out an incredibly close match on Saturday night against third-seeded Illinois, earning their place in the final with the 4-3 edge. Though the final wasn't quite as close (4-0) it was another great display of college tennis as Georgia beat No. 4 Pepperdine for their first ever National Team Indoors title. Coach Manny Diaz can add finally this trophy to his NCAA hardware. For Pepperdine it was an incredible run and their first loss of the season.
Duke's Jonathan Stokke took home the tournament's USTA Sportsmanship Award. The award, voted on by the 16 participating coaches, is given to a player "for displaying outstanding sportsmanship and exemplifying the spirit of college tennis during the course of the tournament and throughout his career." The last Duke player to receive the award was the school's current Assistant Coach, Ramsey Smith (2000).
