The Illinois men's team is the first Big Ten school to win the USTA/ITA Indoor Championships title. Since 1989 the trophy has gone to either Stanford or UCLA. Though it was their first win, it was the team's fourth final in the past six years. The team now moves into the No. 1 spot in the ranking for only the second time. The first time was just last season.
