2001 USA TENNIS COLLEGIATE TEAM

The ITA and the USTA have named the twelve players who will be competing on the 2001 USA Tennis Collegiate Summer Team. Sheila McInerney of Arizona State will once again coach the women's team while Ian Duvenhage, former coach at Florida, will coach the men.

The USA Tennis Collegiate Team is a training program that is funded by the USTA in order to provide players with exposure to the professional circuit. Players are chosen for the program based on the following criteria: United States citizen; NCAA Singles Champion; Dual Match Record; Final ITA Ranking; Performance in ITA Grand Slam events; and Sportsmanship.

The team begins play this month and will continue through to the U.S. Open in August.
