The USTA and ITA announced the twelve players chosen to compete on the 2000 USA Tennis Collegiate Team. Coaching the men's and women's teams will be Tim Cass of Texas A&M and Sheila McInerney of Arizona State, respectively. The USA Tennis Collegiate Team is a training program for top American college players which exposes players to the professional circuit while providing elite training. Players were chosen based on the following criteria: U.S. Citizen; Final WingspanBank.com Collegiate Tennis Rankings; NCAA Singles Champion; Performance in ITA Collegiate Grand Slam events; Dual Match Record; Sportsmanship The team begins play in June and will continue through to the U.S. Open in August. | |||
