2004 NCAA DIVISION III CHAMPIONSHIPS

There is no doubt that one person stands out as the winner of the NCAA Division III Championships. In fact, it would not be a stretch to say that Emory's Mary Ellen Gordon stands out among all of the championships this year.

Mary Ellen Gordon became the first player to: win four NCAA doubles titles; win back-to-back "triple crowns" (singles, doubles team); AND win eight NCAA titles.

The men spread the winners trophies out this year among three schools. The Middlebury men captured their first NCAA Division III team championship with a 4-3 win over Williams. The singles title went to UC-Santa Cruz freshman Matt Seeberger while Mary Washington's Dan Uyar and Paul Bristow won the doubles.
