The sun was finally shining today at the USTA Zone Team Championships. Play went off without any problems at the Old Westbury Country Club and the Shelter Rock Tennis Club. The excitement mounted as the teams from five sections - Eastern, Northern, Middle States, Mid-Atlantic and Northern - tried to win their place in tomorrow's playoffs. The host Eastern girls (left with Coach Nick Hummel) led some of the most exciting matches of the day.
The most exciting match of the day at the Old Westbury Country Club was between Brittany Borsanyi (above) of the Eastern Leopards and the Middle States Panthers' Jordyn Schaffer. Brittany was the winner after a spectacular three and a half hours.

Team spirit was everywhere, but Minh Evans (above) found a unique way to display hers for the Middle States.
