Tennis Club Smrikve - Pula, Croatia - June 20-24, 2007
I didn't make it to Croatia this year, but my friend -- Tournament Director Miodrag Bozovic -- send this report on his wonderful event. Marcia Frost The 12th Smrikva Bowl tennis tournament for boys and girls under 10 gathered around 90 boys and girls from 16 countries and 4 continents. It was another successful year as the girl who finished 3rd at the 11th Smrikva Bowl 2006, Viriginia Pena, was the winner of this year. Virginia won against Croatian Ana Konjuh, also a very good player. The boys were also good players. The finalists were Sasha Merzetti from Italy and Bogdan Borza from Romenia. It was a beautiful final match. All of the winners received mountain bikes and the runners up got Head rackets. On 24th of June 2007, the selected Smrikva Bowl players -- Sasha Merzetti (I), Bogdan Borza (Rom), Virginia Pena (Esp), Ana Konjuh (Cro)-- played the 6th “Little Mo”/Smrikva Bowl in the Smrikve Tennis Club in Pula, Croatia.
