Auburn Montgomery, who had won both the men's and women's title last year, picked up one more this year as the Lady Senators won the 2005 NAIA Women's Championship crown. The one player remaining from the previous team, Suheil Lizana, was actually the one to clinch the victory over Brenau. It is the sixth championship for the Auburn-Montgomery women.

The Azusa Pacific men picked up their first NAIA Men's Championship at the 2005 event. The Cougars had lost in the finals the past two years, first to Oklahoma Christian, then to Auburn-Montgomery, but this year they topped Santa Fe, 5-3 to bring home the trophy.
