TALKING WITH... HOUSTON BARRICK
March, 2006 continued

Q: Are you going to the Easter Bowl?
A: "No. I'm actually going to be on spring break so we're going to be in Destin."

Q: It's interesting that you have the choice (the tournament win gave him a wildcard) and you're not going.
A: "A little break is nice sometimes. I love tennis, but it's good to get away every once in awhile."

Q: Does anyone else in your family play tennis?
A: "No. Nobody does. My dad was a basketball coach for 20 years. Now he works at Belmont College. He's an Associate Athletic Director. My mom played tennis at Belmont, but not at a high level. She works at a coungtry club in Nashville -- Bellmeade Country Club -- so that's where I grew up and learned to play."

Q: At what age did you start playing?
A: "I started at four. I started playing tournaments at about ten."

Q: Are you thinking about college?
A: "We're taking a couple of unofficials. Four or five of those. I'm just starting to look around."

Q: Are you focusing on any schools yet?
A: "No, I really haven't made my decision."

Q: Are you looking to leave Tennessee?
A (Davey Sandgren in background): "No!!"

A: "Not if he has anything to say about it! Vanderbilt and UT (University of Tennessee) are close. Both schools are great. Then there's Georgia Tech and Georgia, UNC and Virginia. All of them are great. It's going to be a tough decision."
