Dr. Irving Glick was a special man who I had the pleasure of knowing during my first years at the Port Washington Tennis Academy running College And Junior Tennis (then in print). Despite his busy schedule, he would come to play tennis often and always take the time to talk to each person he saw and (genuinely) ask how they were. I am sorry that I didn't get to see him in more recent years. Doc, as we called him, was a wonderful friend to tennis who served as the U.S. Open physician. He will be greatly missed.
